Decoding, processing and displaying multiple NDI Video streams is both CPU and GPU-intensive. The wide range of PC specifications and graphics cards available, combined with the range of configurations that ViewMaster supports can make it difficult to determine an appropriate PC specification.
Guideline PC Specifications
Operating System: Windows 10 or later, 64-bit OS
For up to 20 video windows:
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- CPU: Intel I5 or AMD Ryzen 5 processor (Desktop class, 2020 or newer generation)
- GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 16 series, or AMD Radeon 5500
For up to 36 video windows:
- Memory: 8GB RAM
- CPU: Intel I7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processor (Desktop class, 2020 or newer generation)
- GPU: NVidia GeForce RTX 20xx series, or AMD Radeon 5700
All figures assume proxy video quality, and stereo audio metering, output to a single 4K display.
Tips to improve performance with ViewMaster
- Make sure no other applications are running simultaneously
- Configure ViewMaster for LOW quality video
- Use stereo audio meters, or disable them
- Configure the PC to output lower resolution video to the monitor
- Check that your OS and graphics drivers are all up to date
- Ensure that your network architecture is capable of delivering the number of streams required
- Configure NDI video streams to bypass your PC’s firewall
