Helm: Using the Grid

To make it easier to keep components aligned while editing, Helm has a built-in snap grid. Here’s how to use the grid and adjust it to your needs.

Turning the grid on and off

Use the check item in the Edit menu to turn the grid on and off. When it is checked items that you drag in the Work Area automatically snap to grid points.

Adjusting the grid size

Use the Tools / Options menu to open the options dialog.

You can set the grid spacing. The grid points are visible outside the area of the root panel.

How to align a component to the grid

If you want to align an object to the grid you can do this by right-clicking on it.

Just select the Align To Grid option in the menu and it snaps to the nearest grid point.
